New Walls

G and I repainted the living room this weekend. It's not quite done yet, since we had to do three coats of paint to cover the dark Army green. But, we're making progress and I think it'll look really nice when we're done and have our new floors put in.

I'm modern, he's traditional.. who knew ?

I had a very nice anniversary. Yes, boys and girls, G and I have been married an entire year! We've been together almost nine years, but just finished our first year of wedded bliss. G got an early flight home from Houston and was home when I finished work for the day. We had a very nice dinner at Donatello, which thank goodness we had a gift card for because it was unbelievably expensive. But, the service was good and we had a nice, quiet time.

Both of us tried to stick to the traditional/modern anniversary tables. (without knowing the other one was trying to) I went modern: clocks. I got G a Garmin Forerunner 101. It's a GPS unit that tracks your runs. It tracks pace, time, distance, and will even tell you how to get back home if you're running through an unfamiliar area. G went traditional: paper. Well, the gift was on paper. He got me a hot air balloon ride over Tampa Bay !! I'm SO excited !! The ride is also a sunrise champagne brunch. I've always wanted to do this. He must have remembered me gushing about Dr B's balloon ride in Sedona on their anniversary. I'm going to have to ask for a Saturday off in July to go, but I'm really looking forward to it.

I don't have much to compare anniversaries to, but I was very pleased with mine. More than anything, I was just happy to have G home for an extended weekend.

Flaming servers = FUN at the office!

I come in this morning to discover the Eyemed server went down in a flaming ball of badness yesterday. As of this morning, it's still not back up and running. Verifying patients insurance is back to the stone ages of manual verification by phone. With every office in the country trying to call Eyemed for verification, you can just imagine what the hold times are like for my techs. The next available representative will be with you in... 27 minutes.. please be patient, your call is very important to us. Ugh. I'm trying to field all the appointment phone calls myself so that we can save one tech on the phone handling insurance problems.

G and I had a very relaxing weekend. We didn't do much. Watched a movie Friday night after a nice dinner out at Maddogs and Englishmen. (awesome foodie English pub.. which, I know sounds like an oxymoron but it's fabulous!) We did end up going to see Spiderman 3 on Sunday. Every time Emo Peter would come on the screen I'd collapse in a fit of giggles to the point where G would have to nudge me. The unintentional comedy scale was VERY high. The movie was, in fact, rather weak. They had entirely too many plot lines in the air at once. It just didn't flow right.

Monday Tiger and I headed to the vet for his annual exam and shots. Everything turned out very well. I was very happy. He had a few lumps I wanted biopsied and were concerned about but they turned out to just be lipomas. YAY! I had another appointment with the personal trainer. She's kicking my ass, but that's what I pay her for. After only three weeks I'm starting to see definition in my body again. I find out in two weeks how much body fat I've lost. I spent the rest of the day hunting for an anniversary present for G. I found what I was looking for.. at Target of all places. I'll blog about that after I give it to him.

And, back to work I go !

Updating

I know I know.. it's been almost a month since I've written anything. Yes, kids, i'm a very bad blogger.

But ,honestly, I just haven't felt that exciting. There really isn't that much news on my end.

G and I are putting in hardwood floors sometime in the next month or so. We're waiting on condo board approval right now before we can start construction. Also, we're going to repaint our living room. Right now it's Witch Hazel by Behr and we're switching it over to Sage Tint (also Behr). The Witch Hazel looked good in a test swatch, but turned out pretty much Army green on my walls. Neither one of us is that thrilled with it, it's been on the wall two years now and since we have to remove all the furniture to put in the floors.. it's the perfect time to repaint. Of course all this also happens after I bought yarn to match the CURRENT wall color to make a throw afghan for the back of the couch. Oh well.

Work has been really slow the last two or three weeks. (with the exception of Saturdays) My new techs are wonderful! The tech who's been with me the longest is moving with his wife to Portland, Oregon. Tomorrow is his last day, so I have to go buy a cake on my way home tonight. What kind of cakes can vegetarians eat ? I know there are rule and such. I guess I have to ask at the bakery to make sure the frosting doesn't have lard or some other such nonsense.

Honestly, it seems like all my Tampa friends just keep moving. Every time I get some new friends.. they move on me. I don't hold it against them, it just gets frustrating. Stupid upwardly mobile friends!! I've been hanging out a lot more with one of my neighbors. We both discovered a love for The Office so we've been having girly wine and Office parties at my house on Thursdays. She also comes over when Netflix sends me a girly movie that G won't watch.

Well, I should get back to work. I'm going to try to blog more. I just feel like I"m so boring why should I bother y'all with the details. Monday and Tuesday were my days off and my exciting day was going to the title/tax office and getting my tires rotated!! WOW!! See, told you I live the exciting life.
