Halloween!

I love Halloween and Halloween parties.

Tampa H3 is having their Halloween party/run Saturday night on St Pete Beach. G and I are going together. It should be tons of fun!

One of my running group buddies looks EXACTLY like Tobias from Arrested Development... (taller, but just like him) We finally convinced him to rent it to check it out.

Thank goodness for FALL!!

I love fall. I really really do. Things cool off to just about perfect here in Tampa, I get to wears jeans again, I can play tennis for awhile without risk of heat exhaustion.. and my favorite part.. sleeping with the windows open.

Work is slowing down.. it always does this time of year. After back-to-school but before Christmas is a slow time to be an eye doctor. We do usually pick up in mid-December here just due to our location, though. People are here spending money anyway, so what's another couple hundred on some new glasses or contacts??

G is in San Francisco again this week for work. He's getting really tired of the cross country trips.. although he does love going back to all of our old eating places in the East Bay.

I know I haven't blogged in about a week. I just really haven't been in the mood. There's really not that much going on in my life.

I'm leading the Hash on Thursday. So, yes, 20 crazy runners will be trying to track me down on Davis Island. And then Saturday night the Hash group is having a pub-crawl/run on St Pete Beach. (complete with costume contest and the like) It should be fun, I just have to try to get G to go. But, it does look like many of my friends aren't going. I need to get hold of the one who is and see what's she's going to do for a costume. I still haven't figured out what to be that doesn't cost 100 bucks.

It's not too shocking. I think I've been exposed to whatever crud is going arounnd by at least four people. (G and fellow co-workers included) No wonder I slept til almost 10 this morning.

New Friendlier Accountant

I spent almost all of today at my new accountant's office...

My old accountant I basically fired for not getting things done on time. He screwed up my last tax forms and didn't fix them when i told him to. So, I'm done with him. If I'm paying you money.. I shouldn't have to fix my forms myself and then file them myself.

So, fast forward to last week. I was out with the Hash group having a drink after a farewell run for a frend moving back to San Francisco. Two of the runners own a pool hall/bar in Carollwood and ran into their accountant at the bar. we started chatting with him, I told him what I did, he took some of my information, and now he's my accountant.

We spent two and a half hours on my accounts today and it was so very stressful. Now I know how I have to have my payroll taxes set up. I'm hiring a company to start doing it for me so i don't have to. It'll cost a bit a month, but I think it'll be worth saving me the headache of having to file all those federal forms every month, every quarter and every year.

After two hours at the accountants, I had to head to the bank to wire money to the Feds. It was a very LARGE check. Fortunately, I'd been taxing tax money out every two week when I get paid and putting it into savings. Because if my check books sees the money.. it's bye bye money.

I'm just happy I found a nicer, easier to get hold of, more organized accountant. he fact that he understands my crazy hobby... even better.

G

G is sick. Apparently there was a guy being ill on his flight home from Houston Thursday. G was three rows behind the guy.

He started to feel bad Saturday morning and by Sunday afternoon he was a full-fledged sick boy. :( To cheer him up tonight I bought him some mac and cheese and made him dinner.

He is still planning on flying to Houston Monday. he has presentations he has to give and things due. But, I made him promise he'd take off early and go to bed as soon as he could. Poor G.
