Bah-humbug

The Christmas stuff officially went up at work on Friday. It made me ill. To anyone who's met me.. you know how much I HATE Christmas stuff being up BEFORE Halloween !!!! It's just so WRONG!! Grrrrrr. The entry way to the mall looks like Santa's workshop threw up out there.

girl, i know! wtf?! i was at target friday and walmart saturday to get some last-minute stuff for a costume party saturday night...and both stores had removed the majority of their halloween merchandise to make room for the xmas crap. the actual holiday's not until wednesday, people, calm down, those 3 days of retailing won't make a dent in the yuletide sales figures, sheesh.

good god! christmas decorations before halloween? ludicrous. i was at target this weekend as well, and you'll be happy to know that south austin is still firmly decorated for and selling halloween wares. it still irks me that thanksgiving gets passed over ... now halloween as well?! maybe they should just hang the wreaths and garland as soon as the smoke clears from the 4th of july?

As a bench mark, I will always remember dressing as a Christmas tree for Halloween (1995). I went to the Target (in Austin) and bought all the Christmas decorations I needed for my costume. It was sad then (although my costume was KICK ASS!) and it is sad now. I'm right there with you and the "Bah-humbug"! ;)

After reading this post I was all like: "Those crazy Floridians. Starting Christmas decorations in October. I'm glad we're not that bad in the civilized state of Georgia."

Then I came to work at the mall today. As I turned the corner all I could say was: "Damn it!"
