Lanikai Beach

After Manoa Falls, G and I drove up to Kailua for lunch. Kailua is a really cute surf town. For those of you who follow Lost, it's also where Michelle Rodiguez and the girl who plays Libby were arrested for drunk driving.

G and I tried to go to the beach at Kailua Beach Park. But, since it was Memorial Day weekend it was PACKED and there was zero parking.

We ended up driving a little further east to Lanikai Beach. I'd always heard Lanikai was a prettier beach anyway. And, it really was. The water was flat, clear and gorgeous! The sand was brililantly white. We had a relaxing afternoon on the beach reading, watching the snorklers, and watching the women's kayak teams take out their kayaks for training. It was a very peaceful way to spend the afternoon. Especially nice after all the running around we've been doing.
